The Future of Displays Lies in This Laser Hologram Technique

A team of scientists from Purdue just made tiny holograms with lasers. They are smaller than the width of a human hair!
Of course, the scientists aren't doing this just for Star Wars like messages in the future. This may actually change the future of display technology.
The hologram set-up uses a metasurface made from thousands of V-shaped nanoantennas hammered into a gold foil. When laser light shines through the bottom it can project a hologram just 10 microns above the metasurface.
The researchers who built the technology were able to display "PURDUE" in a space narrower than a human hair. This technique could be used to form pixels for future displays and changing its shape is as easy as rearranging the nanoantennas on the metasurface.
A stable wireless connection supports multiple aspects of daily activities. However, the signal strength may get reduced in distant bedrooms, upper floors or balcony spaces. This happens because the intensity of radio waves reduces as they travel through walls, ceilings and furniture. Most of the standard Wi-Fi routers' coverage stays around 140 to 230 square meters.
