BASF Reinvents the Penny-Farthing Bicycle for Modernity

Chemical company BASF has reinvented the classic penny-farthing bicycle and given it a modern update. The classic bike's design has been preserved, but the frame is now crafted from a range of new plastics, lightening the frame by a considerable amount.
The chainless bike's pedals and wheels have been stripped of their metal content. Instead, BASF installed an electric motor within the smaller rear wheel powered by a battery pack which is housed in the bike's seat.
The bike's seat is removable, enabling riders to easily keep the battery with them, rendering the bike useless for potential thieves. This 'Concept 1865' is also equipped with a wheel locking app, accessible from any smartphone.
A stable wireless connection supports multiple aspects of daily activities. However, the signal strength may get reduced in distant bedrooms, upper floors or balcony spaces. This happens because the intensity of radio waves reduces as they travel through walls, ceilings and furniture. Most of the standard Wi-Fi routers' coverage stays around 140 to 230 square meters.
