The researchers at MIT and Max Planck Institute have developed a printable sensor that can be cut down with a pair of scissors and be applied to any device or appliance giving them multitouch controls.

The new printed panels are cheap to produce, and they feature the electrodes and wiring arranged in unique patterns to ensure they still function no matter what size and shape they've been cut in to.

The approach is pretty brilliant, and your imagination is really your limit here. Imagine controlling the air conditioner from your table, or couch, and more.
