China may have one long and impressive record of cybercrime, but it looks like Indonesia just knocked them off the number one spot.
According to a
new Akamai study, Indonesia has edged out China to become the world's top originating country for Internet attacks. It revealed that Indonesia cybercrime is growing rapidly. By leaps and bounds!
More than 38% of attack traffic originated in Indonesia and second place was China, while America contributed to 10% of attack traffic.
In recent months, Indonesia even started a state-sponsored cyber army to defend national infrastructure against perceived cyberattacks by China, Russia, South Korea, and the United States.
