The Average Man, Rendered, Visualized and Compared
Oct 15, 2013 20:13
The man seen on the far left is Todd, the most typical American man based on averages from CDC anthropometric data.
The images were rendered by James Hamblin for The Atlantic. The man in the image above is between 30 to 39 and has a BMI of 29 and is five feet nine and has a 39 inch waist. That's pretty overweight right? Hamblin compares to Todd to the average guy from other countries:
Though in his face this reads lonesome, Todd does have three international guyfriends. They met at a convention for people with perfectly average bodies, where each won the award for most average body in their respective country: U.S., Japan, Netherlands, and France. The others' BMIs, based on data from each country's national health centers, are 23.7 [Japan], 25.2 [Netherlands], and 25.6 [France].
Check out the other average men renders below from other countries. They all look much healthier compared to Todd. [Atlantic via Flowing Data]

By using the correct steps, you can extend the Wi-Fi network range across your home and office. Read more
