Dyson's airblade hand dryers are pretty damn cool. Your hands get dry in a matter of seconds. Now, the its engineers have
managed to find a way to make its Airblade hand dryers even better by reducing their noise by 50 percent.
There is a new digital motor which features a custom silencer designed to eliminate annoying motor noises. The new Airblade dB also deals with the dryer's deafening air jets, which can reach up to speeds of up to 420mph.
Jets of air from the previous model met near its opening to dry your hands fast. But this approach meant that it had to collide at very high speeds, which produced lots of noise.
To circumvent this, the Airblade dB's vents have been redesigned with the scallop shaped openings that angle the jets down more and gives them time to slow down before they collide. This results in their sound being reduced by 50 percent. Check it out in the video below:
