HONOR MagicWatch 2 runs the special Smartwatch OS of Huawei HONOR: Lite OS. It has all-around functions. Users can find all the desired applications in it. In terms of hardware, this 46mm version comes with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display. It has a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. At the same time, it has a high pixel density of 326 ppi. The display is clear and bright enough. We will not meet any content-visibility problems even under bright sunlight.

HONOR SmartWatch uses HUAWEI's internal HiSilicon Kirin A1 chip. The MagicWatch 2 offers 4 GB of internal storage. Users can use about 2.3 GB storage. But it’s quite enough for a smartwatch.

 

HONOR MagicWatch 2 has a battery of 455 mAh. A single charge can last up to 14 days. It supports Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band GPS and GLONASS. These are for outdoor activity tracing. HONOR MagicWatch 2, of 46 mm, can take calls and play music. It achieves these functions via its onboard speaker and wireless headset.

It offers 15 fitness tracking modes (8 outdoor and 7 indoor). They are for activities like running, swimming, biking and hiking. It can monitor your heart rate, sleep and pressure 24/7. The meter can measure the maximum oxygen uptake. By default, the watch has enabled the sleep and heart rate tracking. However, you have to active the pressure monitoring by yourself.

The watch will display notifications from third-party apps. This is convenient.

To make the watch special, users can choose from pre-installed dials and downloadable dials. App Store uploads more and more personalized dial designs. Users can install the Huawei Mobile Services app to download more dials.

 

There are other issues related to UI. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen, and the watch will bring up a list of notifications. Swipe down, and the quick setup panel will open. The panel consists of five controls. They are "Do Not Disturb" mode, "Find My Phone" function, alarms, display of sleep time and settings. Swiping from the left edge to the right is a backward gesture. You will return to the previous page. Swiping left on the home screen can open the dedicated page. You can find controls for tracking heart rate, pressure monitoring, location and weather information, music playback, and a step counter there.

Lite OS includes almost all the basic functions of a smartwatch and fitness tracker. It has various fitness tracking modes. At the same time, users can make and receive calls and play music on the watch or via a connected phone or wireless headset.
