Brainstorming is one of those office activities everyone has had to do. But study after study has shown that brainstorming doesn't work, and it isn't more effective than having people work on their own and sharing their ideas later.
The reason behind this is because different people tend to focus on different problems within a larger issue and not everyone is looking at the same thing at the same time.
