3D printing started out with single color creations. Now, the Objet500 Connex3 is changing things up. It has a machine that can print in 46 hues and in multiple materials.
We've already posted about this several weeks back. Some of the examples Stratasys has shown off is a multi-hued football helmet with both facemask and helmet, or a shoe with a soft interior and a stronger rubber outsole.
The printer is a CAD based system in an industrialized setup. For now, it's probably too expensive for the normal consumer or hobbyist, but the fact that it exists will change how we're going to produce things from here on forth. [Stratasys]
