Looks like LG is all set to take on the wearable tech market. The company recently debuted the Lifeband Touch during the 2014 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

This handy gadget works like a fitness tracker that can track your steps, distance, calories, and heart rate when used with the LG heart monitor headphones. You can also sync it with your phone through Bluetooth to receive alerts for calls and texts, or to change music.

Unlike the Nike FuelBand, this fitness bracelet is equipped with a three-axis accelerometer and an altimeter. It also responds to gesture-based controls, has a lithium polymer battery that holds a charge for five days, and is splash-proof.

LG also announced that it will be selling a special pair of $180 earbuds which can track your heart rate. The earbuds will provide you cues while exercising to let you know how fast your heart beat is, and can also be used with the LG FItness app (iOS and Android).

The Lifeband Touch and Heart Rate Earphones will be available starting in the United States in the first half of 2014, to be followed by rollouts in other markets.
