Korean pop star Zia has taken over Mnet's singles chart with her latest song "Laughter" during the second week of August.
The singer's new song "Laughter" made an incredible 31-slot jump to first place, displacing former winner "I'm a Guy Like This" from hip-hop trio DJ DOC to the No. 5 spot.
Zia, whose real name is Park Ji-hye, made her debut in 2007 with her first single album "Voice of Heaven." She has released several albums and is well-known for her songs "Absentmindedly," "Have a Drink" and "Like Her."
She recently returned to the music scene with her mini-album "Difference" featuring the title track "Laughter," which was released on August 6.
"I Probably Lost My Mind" by balladeer Lee Seung-gi climbed up five spots to rank in second place and "They Live Well" by 8eight's Lee Hyun and 2AM's Changmin maintained its stance at No. 3.
Meanwhile, DJ DOC continued to reign the albums chart with their seventh full-length release "風流" for the third consecutive week, Zia's mini-album "Difference" skipped its way to second place and Se7en's new record "Digital Bounce" dropped a notch to round out the top three.
