Female singer IU who was invited for a solo performance at Kyungwon University's school festival met with a crowd of people that flocked towards the car she was in and for 30 minutes, she was trapped in a car stuck in the middle of the road. Some fans who witnessed the incident expressed their concern and said, "IU needs a van that can hide her well."

Upon checking with IU's manager who was also present at that time, apparently the van IU usually travels in broke down, so a car was rented from the repair shop, resulting in this situation of her face being exposed.

In a phone call with Kuki News on May 13th, IU's manager explained, "We set off in the usual van that hides her well. However, of all days, it had to break down that day, so we left it at the repair shop and temporarily used another car to make our way to Kyungwon University. Since it was a normal car without tinting, her face was probably easily exposed to the public."

He added, "To make matters worse, the passage to enter the event venue was narrow, so cars kept stopping and going. In the end, several students passing by discovered the car. Initially, only one or two of them went, 'Ah! It's IU!', but because of the noise they were making, in an instant, it increased to more than 100 of them and eventually, a whole throng of people swarmed towards and surrounded the car. We couldn't see anything around the car but people."

Eventually, IU and her manager could only stare blankly back at the crowd surrounding them and were trapped inside the car for about 30 minutes. With the help of the police, the car barely managed to extricate itself from the scene. Although they took a considerable amount of time to enter the venue, luckily they set off early, so they were able to reach the stage on time.

Apparently, IU did not respond to the cheers of the crowd gathering around the car and simply sat still, listening to her music. According to eyewitness accounts regarding this, initially, when she made her way into the school, she plugged in her earphones and was listening to music, but when one or two students gathered and started shouting and cheering, she took off her earphones and responded to them. She also nodded in greeting to the students who were pressing their faces against the car.

Regarding this incident, her manager also said, "We think of this as the love IU's fans have for her. On close scrutiny of the car after returning to Seoul, I found that the car was covered with fingerprints. For now, I'll return the car, but I was worried that we might have broken some part of the car."

Through IU's outstanding vocal abilities and cute appearance, she receives a lot of love from males and females of all ages. Currently, she is undertaking the role as an MC on SBS Inkigayo. She will also be making appearances on SBS 'Kim Yuna's Kiss and Cry' on May 22nd as well as 'Immortal Classic 2' next month.
