2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) took place on November 29 in Indoor Stadium at Singapore. 2NE1 was awarded one of the grand prize. After the awarding ceremony, 2NE1 got interviewed and used this time to thanks fans.
2NE1 expressed their gratitude and said,"We really had fun and great time because of the fantastic performances, and winning the grand prize. We feel honored and this we'll never forget."
2NE1's leader CL continued, "We believe that music can brush away the language barrier. Although we don't have common language, we can communicate through music we shared together."
Also at the event, CL did an amazing collaborative performance with international star Will.I.Am. CL exclaimed, “It was an incredible experience for me.”
2NE1 also announced their future plans. "We are having promotional tour at the moment for our new album in Japan. We will prepare a new tour for our next album next year.”
This year, 2NE1 got higher ranks in various music charts for their hit songs “Lonely,” “Ugly,” and “I Am the Best.” Moreover, 2NE1 also grab the Best Vocal Performance Group in 2011 MAMA.
