Fantaken photos from a recent filming in Indonesia of virtual couple Ham Eunjung and Lee Jang Woo for MBC’s "We Got Married" were posted on online, re-evoking the question for the show, "Scripted or Real?"
Several photos, titled "We Got Married is scripted?" were uploaded to various online communities. In the photos, the role-playing couple are seen enjoying some fresh coconut off the streets. But what caught the attention of the netizens is a female staff member behind the duo holding a placard that reads in Korean, "Let’s buy and eat some coconuts."
"We Got Married" has described itself as an unscripted, reality show. As a result, the photos reignited debate over how “real” the show is and whether even the seemingly less important dialogue between the show’s couples is scripted or not.
Netizens commented, "I didn’t think they’d hold up scripts so blatantly like that", "Is the show really all just a set up?", and "Since there aren’t actual lines, I suppose an aspect of it is still reality."
