IU’s ‘The Best Lee Soon Shin’ alters poster due to controversy

After a youth group condemned IU’s drama for defaming the great General Lee Soon Shin, KBS has released an updated version of main poster for ‘The Best Lee Soon Shin’.
On March 18, a representative of the production team behind the drama stated that they edited the main poster. While the original poster shows the casts stand on a pile of 100 won coins that have an image of General Lee Soon Shin, the new poster has the coins changed to a plain gold platform.
The action was in response to criticism of the show. A youth group stated that the drama is defaming one of the greatest heroes in Korean history, General Lee Soon Shin, which coincides with the name of the character IU plays.
Although the drama’s production team is said to have no plans to change the name, it decided take out some of the elements that could hurt the respected image of the general.

That uncertainty can be especially difficult when the job involves physical labor and every week away from work affects household stability. Read more
