Billboard introduced the group,"EXO looks positioned to be K-pop's next crossover phenom with an American fanbase brewing for the 12-member boy band. The video for Southern hip-hop-inspired "Growl" was 2013's third most viewed K-pop music video in the U.S., after the internationally-recognized PSY and Girls' Generation. They also snagged the fifth and ninth biggest-selling K-pop tracks in America last year for "Growl" and dubstep-inspired "Wolf," respectively."

EXO's last year mini album "XOXO (Kiss & Hug)" sold over 1 million copies which made the group received the grand prizes from MelOn Music Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards. They also received "Song of The Year Award" during KBS Gayo Daechukjae and was chosen as no.1 for "20 Best K-Pop Songs of 2013" by Billboard.
