Ferrari's latest 458 Speciale A has made its Paris show debut. The "A" is short for Aperta, or open in Italian. It has the same 4.5 liter V8 engine with 597hp and 540Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.
The new car sprints from 0-100 km/h (62mph) in 3.0 seconds and has a Fiorano lap time of 1’23”5 – the same as the coupe.
An aluminum retractable hardtop helps keep the weight difference with the 1,290kg (2,844lbs) coupe to 50kg (110 lbs) at 1,340kg (2,945 lbs).
