VW has decided to release more photos of their Beetle Dune study, which is described as having a "near-production design". Everything about the car is feasible, and Volkswagen is “looking much more realistically towards a production vehicle,” which would become the sportiest Beetle ever – always according to the carmaker.

The car has a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 207hp (210PS) and is mated to a six-speed DSG transmission. Still, that is good enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 227 km/h (141 mph).
