The next Nissan GT-R replacement has yet to surface, and now scans from an unnamed Japanese magazine is speculating that the car will combine a redesigned VR38DETT twin-turbo V6 "developing 580hp" in base trim with a "regenerative hybrid system employing KERS style technology for an extra 250hp".

Talks of bringing hybrid technology to the table have been hinted, with Nissan product chief Andy Palmer saying it could be a possibility in the next R36 GT-R.
