Audi confirmed it will add 11 new models to the lineup, expanding it to a total of 60 models. The announcement coincided with Audi celebrating the sale of its 1.5 millionth car this year.

Audi has already doubled its global sales within a single decade. They sold 769,900 cars in 2003.

“We will continue to write this success story and expand our product range from the current 49 to 60 models. We see a great deal of potential, particularly in the SUV segment and in the especially prestigious full-size category,” said Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi AG.

The automaker didn't mention any specific models or timeframe, but it is pretty clear they will be mostly SUVs.
