There are a number of factors that affect your payouts in an online casino. But what if all other factors aligned but the players were different? Would the machine still give out the same rewards?
To find out, Milan Rabszski is on a quest, performing an investigative experiment to break down the frequency of payouts in online casinos. For this purpose, instead of asking other experts to lend a hand, he has gone and done something brilliantly.
Mr Rabszski picked a homeless person, a social sciences teacher and a businessperson to play at the same casino until they won. Yes, he is aware that this is a small subset and that they would not invest the same amount. However, he’s calculating the percentage of the frequency of payouts to ensure there is fairness to this experiment.
As expected, each of them won varying rewards. So, what exactly did Milan learn from this experiment?
The Less Fortunate Player
Now, picking up a person living on the streets and asking them to play is probably not the best of ideas, but it does serve the purpose. This player, whom Milan calls A, starts off on the penny slots. Penny slots are known to give a low reward frequently. However, due to impatience and greed, A forgets to use the bonuses. The bonuses have great payouts, but A would not spend time on the pretty visuals because they needed to get back to their game.
By the end of their play, they have also shown traits of:
● A preference for intoxication,
● Impulsive decision-making,
● Mental instability,
● Chasing losses,
● And restlessness.
The above list of factors, along with impatience and greed, are negative traits in any gambler. These are traits Milan says we must always avoid. Why? Player A did not walk away with large rewards, and it is not because they invested small amounts or because the machine was rigged. Play A played until their penny lake dried up, and they didn’t understand why they went home with less money than they came in with.
Milan calls them player B. This social sciences teacher is equipped with the knowledge of game theory
and statistics involved in gaming. Whether this was a fluke or Milan’s choice is up for interpretation. B chose a regular slot machine and played cautiously, tallying their wins and losses, playing the bonuses, and backing out when necessary.
Player B won a few rounds of high payouts, and once they started to lose, they cut their losses and walked away with twice as much money as they came in with. What makes them different or better than A? According to Milan’s analysis, the teacher showcased traits that a positive gambler would need to have to succeed.
● Not impulsive,
● Knows when to use their information and knowledge,
● Emotionally stable,
● Knows when to stop.
B has a natural talent for avoiding the chaos around them and takes a quick moment to think and respond. It could be their conditional training of being a teacher, but this works in their favor. They did not get angry in the face of a loss and knew how to deal with it.
Player C in this experiment is one of those people who wouldn’t think twice before buying something they want or need. Now, this may seem like a luxury to most, and it is to Milan too, who is envious of two kinds of people: The ones who can eat as much as they want and not gain weight and the ones who don’t check the price tag before buying the things that catch their eye.
C rolls up to play at a high-stakes slot machine with jackpots http://topkasynoonline.com/automaty-do-gry/progresywny-jackpot/
. These machines require you to start with a higher number than usual and pay equally well. Player C probably plays the longest of all the players, uses their bonuses, and despite facing a few losses, stays on to see the end. Milan noticed they showed similar traits to player B but stood out with winner qualities.
● Avoids intoxication,
● Concentrated and focused,
● Highly alert to their surroundings and the game,
● Detect patterns,
● Driven towards the big wins,
● Impeccable math skills.
Now, these skills may seem individually achievable, but to use them as you see fit is a challenge. Milan noticed the businessperson treated the machine like their own store. Losses are common, but with the right investment, a huge win is right around the corner. And the right investment is a decision made on experience and not information alone.
What Can We Learn from Them
Milan Rabszski spent days, if not weeks, analyzing the three players. His takeaway from this experiment can be summed up in a few simple words. The machines’ payout frequency is relatively similar. Irrespective of who is playing and what they are playing, the random number generators don’t have a pattern and eventually end up delivering similar rewards. Where it does matter is on the player’s end.
There are obvious traits that differentiate a great gambler from a problematic one. And sure, luck plays a major role, but these traits don’t develop overnight. For you to make the best of the rewards, you need to keep playing until you master the game and play it better than it plays you.
Therein lies the key.
