You would think that the fact that smog stinks, makes it hard to breathe, and makes people sick would make China finally do something about it. But the smog situation has only now become a national security concern because it's disrupting the feed from their spy cams.

The pollution is said to be so bad now that the country's massive network of surveillance cameras has now been rendered useless. Even the infrared cameras are reportedly not working properly.

Because of this, the National Natural Science Foundation has decided to fund two separate teams to figure out how to solve this pesky smog problem within the next four years. Here's hoping that they stay focused on the smog problem, and not just decide to invent a camera that can see through smog.
