While public toilets might be notorious for their unsavory conditions, the 'PPlanter' seeks to change all that by being both a public toilet and deodorizer:

This user-friendly, eco-centric design by Hyphae Design Laboratory will collect all the pee to nourish pots of bamboo, which in turn keeps the stall odor-free.

Just step inside a small semi-private booth, relieve yourself before flushing and washing your hands using the foot pump. And ladies can contribute too as they will be provided with a disposable funnel that lets them pee while standing up.

The prototype was first tested in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco. After some positive feedback, the city has ordered a permanent outdoor restroom that consists of two urinals as well as a composting toilet.
