Does it seem like everyone is trying to sport a beard these days? And if you couldn't grow one, would you consider getting a full beard transplant? That's what a number of men are doing and the trend seems to be catching on.

DNA Info recently spoke to a few plastic surgeons who say they have performed an increasing number of facial hair transplant surgeries. Dr. Epstein says that he averages three beard implants a week. Men are getting pretty vain.

"Whether you are talking about the Brooklyn hipster or the advertising executive, the look is definitely to have a bit of facial hair," said Dr. Jeffrey Epstein who performs the surgery in his Midtown office. He added, "I get a lot of detail-oriented people—artists, architects."

The procedure involves removing hair from the scalp or the chest with tiny incisions and then grafted onto the face. Once the roots take hold, the patient can shave his new beard as if it were normal hair. Don't worry. It will grow back.

The cost ranges from $3,000 usd for partial beard implants for patients with patchy beards to $7,000 for full beards for those who can't grow a beard at all.
