Batkid spent Friday restoring peace and order to the people of San Francisco / aka Gotham City for the day. All in a day's work. Everyone rejoices!
Underneath the mask is a five year old boy named Miles, who's currently battling leukemia. His biggest wish was to be Batman for a day. So the Make-a-Wish Foundation set about to make that happened. They got more than they bargained for when more than 10,000 strangers volunteered to make Miles' dream come true.
Batkid saved a damsel in distress after the Riddler tied her to train tracks. He also stopped a bank robbery and even rescued the San Francisco Giants mascot Lou Seal from Penguin. Later on he attended a press conference where Mayor Ed Lee handed him a key to the city.
By evening, more than 10,000 Instagram photos had been posted with the hashtag #SFBatKid. We've got a few below, but do check out the rest on Instagram.
