Hitting Control + Alt + Delete brings up the task manager in Windows, but not too many people who aren't tech savvy enough know this. Bill Gates wants to apologize for it, saying that it was all just a big mistake.

Speaking at the Harvard fundraising campaign, Gates admitted that the series of button presses was far from intentional:
It was a mistake... We could have had a single button, but the guy who did the IBM keyboard design didn't wanna give us our single button.
David Bradley was the engineer who worked on the original IBM PC. The combo button still works in Windows 8 to lock a PC or run Task Manager. A mistake, but one that's still being used till today. Ironic?
