How would you like to navigate a college with a drone tour guide? That’s the concept behind Skycall, a playful prototype designed to help visiting Harvard students find their way around MIT's confusing campus.
Skycall is the work of the Senseable City Laboratory, an MIT research group. They explore how sensor technology can be deployed to make cities smarter. Skycapp is equipped with the hardware necessary to find, communicate with and track an intended student. When it is summoned via a custom built app, it serves as the nerve center and after finding the user, Skycall can speak to the student with its audio system and microphone.
