BlackBerry is going to be acquired by Fairfax Financial Holdings for $4.7 billion. The financial holdings conglomerate has agreed to pay $9 per share for the mobile company. Their shares were trading at $8.23 per share before a freeze was initiated.

But BlackBerry is not out of the woods just yet because this isn't a done deal just yet. According to the terms of the agreement, Fairfax can walk away at any time. They already own approximately 10% of BlackBerry common shares.

Is this the end of BlackBerry? Back in 2007, they were worth more than $100 billion.
