Malware on smartphones are getting to be a bigger problem every other year. This device called the Skorpion, is out to kill them. The device is a charger and malware hunter in one.

When it is connected to a smartphone, it scans for malware, viruses and malicious rootkits. Just plug it in, and Skorpion will do the rest within two minutes if there's any malware on your phone. Within six minutes, it has done a comprehensive scan of the OS and reports back any problems.

Everything is managed through a web-based interface that keeps up with stats and gives guidance on what to do should your phone have malware in it.

Skorpion is also less likely to be fooled by malware that's programmed to tell a virus scanner everything is ok. The device will work independently of the smartphone, which means you'll get a deeper scan and get notified with these types of attacks.

The Skorpion will go on sale under the Belkin brand later this year for $65 plus a $3 to $4 monthly subscription fee.
