Physiotherapy is meant to help get your body working again after an injury. The only limitation to this is that therapists aren't able to see your inner workings while you are rebuilding muscle. A research team from Saitama University have developed a machine that generates a virtual representation of your muscles so you can check them out in motion.

Dubbed R-cloud, it uses haptic feedback, sensors that measure actual muscle contraction and augmented reality to track the motion of the patient's arm. It will then use that info to recreate the muscles in 3D on a nearby display.

The technique is not for fun and games either. It should provide therapists a better idea of how the muscles of the arm are moving and to what extent and most importantly, help patients avoid over exertion.
