The YouTube Music Awards begins at 6 p.m. ET. on Sunday, Nov. 3. Performers like Lady Gaga, Eminem, Arcade Fire, Avicii, CDZA, Lindsey Stirling, M.I.A., Tyler the Creator and Walk off the Earth will be performing during the hour and a half event. Spike Jonze is the show's director and he said that live music videos will be created during the event.

Nominees Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Fifth Harmony, Girls’ Generation and Epic Rap Battles of History will also make appearances throughout the night.

A pre-show will start airing at 5 p.m. ET.



The YouTube Music Awards has six categories, some of which are unique to the event, such as Response of the Year category, which recognizes the best covers, remixes and parodies.

They will choose their nominees based on musicians' YouTube stats including views, Likes, comments and channel subscriptions. The winners will be decided by share counts for each artist's nomination video on Facebook, Google+ and Twitter.

Actor Jason Schwartzman and Reggie Watts will be hosting the show. Here is the list of nominees in the six categories:
