We should be brushing, diligently, and several times a day, but many of us don't. A Paris based company called Kolibree has come up with they claim to be the world's first app-connected toothbrush that will encourage better brushing habits between dentist visits.

The toothbrush looks like the usual electric model at first sight, but it has been enhanced with a wireless Bluetooth connection that reports back your brushing times and habits to an accompanying app.

It gives the user insight on how long they brush versus how they should be brushing. It lets oral hygiene be turned into a game to encourage kids to stay on top of keeping their teeth clean. I know a few adults who could really make use of this too. The company intends to make the collected data available through an API letting other developers create brushing-based games and other applications.

Kolibree's connected toothbrush will sell for between $99 and $200 when it becomes available for pre-order this summer. Better to keep your teeth clean and healthy than to spend more to fix them later.
