How does Apple's new fingerprint scanner work? While you can unlock your phone with your fingerprint, you'll still need to create a traditional passcode for your phone in order to use it.

A Wall Street Journal report on Thursday revealed that if you leave your iPhone 5S untouched for 48 hours straight, you won't be able to use the device's fingerprint scanner to wake it up. You'll need to put in a passcode.

The scanner showed difficulty with sweaty or wet fingers in early tests, but in those cases, you can always use a different finger with the scanner.

Apple’s Touch ID sensor, which can be set up to work with multiple fingers, stores the encrypted data of your fingerprint on the phone's processor scanning it at 500 ppi resolution.

Will this solve this hack?
