Volvo has launched their latest entry model - the C segment hatchback 2013 Volvo V40 series. The base model T4 starts at RM173,888 and comes with a turbocharged petrol 1.6 liter GTDi. The higher spec V40 T5 starts at RM188,888, followed by their top range V40 Cross Country starting at RM198,888. All prices quoted are excluding insurance.

The V40 uses the now discontinued S40 sedan's platform and is the last model to be developed in cooperation with Ford. The S40 sedan itself has been discontinued globally and the 40-series model will be offered as a hatchback only.

“The All-New V40 is an important model within a new and exciting segment that shows huge potential.  The goal is to take a leading position when it comes to design safety and driving dynamics. The hatchback segment is a growing sector in Europe and in Asia with the V40 setting new standards in this competitive segment.  We intend to be class-leading for hatchbacks in terms of driving dynamics, and of course, in safety, and the V40 shows how we have put a great deal of effort both into improving driving characteristics,” said Keith Schäfer, Managing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia.

The V40's interior includes a graphic digital instrument cluster allowing the driver to choose between graphic themes and layout choice of Elegance, Eco and Performance. Elegance lights up the background in amber while Eco is green and Performance changes to red.
