Mercedes-Benz showed off some high resolution photos of the 2015 C-Class sedan's interior. The interior features "high-grade materials" and all the latest technology features such as a free-standing, tablet style touchscreen display on the center console.

The automaker says that the standard 7 inch and optional 8.4 inch screens work much like a smartphone with the use of receiving "clear, haptic feedback when operating the touchpad control surface".

The air conditioning system comes with automatic air recirculation with tunnel detection using satellite navigation. It also has active fragrancing and ionization and uses a new heads-up display projecting information on speed, speed limits, navigation and messages from DISTRONIC PLUS as a virtual image displayed in front of the driver's field of vision.

The C-Class sports an aluminum hybrid body, which Mercedes says makes it the "lightweight construction trailblazer" in its segment.

The body and bodyshell are around 70 kg lighter than the conventional production using steel and the vehicle is 100 kilograms lighter than its predecessor.
