IKEA pretty much sells everything. And now that "pretty much" has extended to solar panels. The furniture store is now selling solar panels in its 17 UK stores.

The Swedish retailer will start selling photovoltaic (PV) systems to UK customers within the next ten months. The setups will stand to yield their new owners $1,200 in subsidies and energy savings annually.

In a different approach to spread green energy, IKEA is focusing on finances rather than the environment. "You don't have to care about the environment and climate change," IKEA's head of sustainability Steve Howard told The Wall Street Journal, "you can just care about the finances."
