Canon's Experimental Video Sensor Can See Things In The Dark (Video)

Canon showed off their in-development sensor that's able to capture the details of a scene in almost no light at all. The results are pretty impressive, even for its current stage. Check out the video of fireflies in a dark forest. Night photography is going to change.
The prototype camera features a full frame CMOS sensor shooing in full HD at 30 fps. Check it out below:
Canon insists that this technology will be used for medical research, astronomical observation and surveillance and not in consumer or pro DSLRs. While we might not see this just yet as a consumer product, let's hope it does eventually find its way to our hands.
