Doctor Who travels through space and time in a blue police box called a TARDIS. A couple of physicists have decided to look into the theory and they state that it could in fact exist.

Physicists Ben Tippett and David Tsang of the fictional Gallifrey Polytechnic Institute and the Gallifrey Institute of Technology wrote a paper about the subject called “Traversable Achronal Retrograde Domains in Spacetime.”

The study suggests that one could theoretically travel back and forward through their own time stream like the Doctor. The spacetime geometry basically concerns the three dimensions of space and one dimension of time. The two physicists came up with the math that would make time travel possible.

The space geometry allows the TARDIS to go easily from one part of space and time to another, and according to Tippett and Tsang, the TARDIS creates a bubble of spacetime and uses that to get the Doctor from point A to point B.

Of course, this is all in theory. For now. No Doctor Whos around just yet. Or that we know of.
