The Volkswagen Golf will be available in an all-electric version in 2014 and will be called the e-Golf. It will also arrive in Asia and North America in late 2014 and early 2015.

The concept will be powered by an electric motor developing 85 kW (114hp) and 270 Nm of torque, and is able to reach 100km/h in 10.4 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 140km/h and the 12,000 rpm motor is linked to a single speed gearbox with integrated differential and mechanical parking brake.

The battery can recharge in a maximum of 13 hours at a conventional plug and in 8 hours using a wall box for the garage of carport. The battery can be recharged up to 80 percent in 30 minutes it uses a special CCS charging station.

VW hasn't announced pricing of the e-Golf just yet.
