Japanese giant Toyota has released more details the special Hybrid-R edition the Yaris
hatchback, which is set to hit the Frankfurt
Motor Show next week.
The white exterior features bright blue and matte black accents. The 18″ TRD alloy wheels have been paired with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires. The interiors feature slick black leather and blue Alcantara Recaro racing bucket seats with a matching steering wheel, as well as racing-inspired controls and GT 86 sport pedals.
The car comes equipped with TMG’s Global Racing Engine - a Garett turbocharged 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder with direct injection delivering 300 horsepower to the front wheels. Each of the rear wheels feature additional electric motors delivering 60hp, providing this compact automobile a whopping AWD horsepower of 420hp in total. The electric motor also provides traction control power during acceleration and acts as a generator. The TS030-derived super capacitor system is capable of providing a 40hp boost for ten seconds in “Road” mode and a full 120 hp for five seconds in “Track” mode.
