A Nissan spokesman confirmed the development of a GT-R successor that will be presented as a 2016 model.
While the spokesperson wouldn't give out a precise date, he specifically said the new GT-R will be a "2016MY", which means it should land in showrooms in late 2015.
No other information was shared just yet.
"The Nissan GT-R NISMO is the GT-R with which we pursue pure performance," said Hiroshi Tamura, Nissan GT-R and NISMO Chief Product Specialist in a press statement released on Friday. "It is for people who search for true performance with pure motorsports flavor. Its development is on schedule, and I can’t wait to see the model introduced into the markets."
