With Porsche being one of the most established, well-known brands of luxury cars in the world, it is expected that buyers have to pay dollars for one of their top-of-the-line vehicles. However, every penny you spend on a Cayman, Carrera, Cayenne, or Spyder will be worth it due to their speed, impeccable handling, and timeless style.

And since you spent a fortune on your new vehicle, you have to get the most out of it. This means ensuring it is always safe to drive and won’t break down suddenly and require frequent repairs.

Proper maintenance is the key to owning a safe, smooth-running Porsche. Experts from a Porsche service center in Dubai share below the best tips for maintaining your vehicle to keep it in tip-top condition and preserve its stylish look:

1. Drive gently.

Although it can be hard to avoid getting bitten by the speed bug when you are behind a Porsche, try your best to fight it. Driving calmly and going easy on the brakes will help extend the life of your vehicle.

Accelerating quickly occasionally won’t damage your vehicle. However, doing it often boosts your chances of wearing down the parts faster. It reduces your fuel economy as well.

Aside from avoiding frequent hard acceleration, minimize jackrabbit starts and last-second braking. Additionally, always steer around large potholes.

To extend the life of your transmission, always shift gears after your car has completely stopped. Also, if you only go on short drives frequently, get out on a highway and go on a long trip every few weeks since stop-and-go driving can cause parts to wear down more quickly.

2. Look after the engine.

Porsche engines are some of the most sophisticated in terms of design and build in the automotive world. To avoid unexpected costly repairs, you need to check under the hood frequently.

Start by making sure that the oil in the engine is always at the recommended level to maintain proper lubrication of all the components. Additionally, change the engine oil frequently as recommended by the owner’s manual.

While changing the oil, clean the filter to prevent carbon buildup, which can cause clogging and interfere with the engine functions.
