T.J Evarts is not your average ordinary teenager. He's an inventor and he's just made a device that will stop texting and driving. Now 20, he's the inventor of the SMARTWheel. It alerts when drivers are distracted while driving.
At the age of 14, he began working on solving the problem of drivers losing focus behind the wheel.
The SMARTWheel is designed to minimize distractions like texting and eating. It can also be installed in a matter of minutes on the steering wheel.
The gadget will alert drivers with lights and buzzes when they take either one or both hands off the wheel.
Evarts began working on his idea six years ago with his two sisters. In 2013, at the age of 16, he decided to commit full time when “Shark Tank” invited them to appear on the show.
What were you doing when you were 16?
