There are many ways to be more productive, but perhaps the best way to do so is to understand why we aren't in the first place. Here are a couple of brain hacks you can use to be a tad bit more productive.

1. Focus and pay attention


Don't multitask. It may seem like a cool thing to do, but you're not doing yourself any favors. Do one thing at a time. Keep a list. Strike it off after finishing a task and move on to the next one.

2. Use pen and paper to write your to-do list.


The reason for this is because the act of writing has been linked to increased cognitive thinking. That's right. Your brain loves it.

3. Take quick breaks.


Don't stare at your screen for way too long than you should or can. Eyestrain not only causes headaches but also makes you lose concentration and momentum. Instead, just get up, take a walk around the office, do some stretches and drink some water.

4. Bright lights are important.


There's a reason your office is so brightly lit. That's because working in brighter rooms increases alertness.

5. Exercise


Believe it or not, exercise actually makes you more productive. And less tired too. So the next time you say you're too tired to go for a run or do some stretches, remember that you are actually making yourself feel even more tired in the long run.
