The faster the car, the better. But speed is only one aspect of a super fast car. While the Hennessey Venom GT tops out at just over 270 miles per hour, the Bloodhound SSC is designed to go over 1,000mph. Not road worthy of course. The more important question is how do you make brakes for these kinds of cars?

The engineers use air brakes, that absorb most of the speed until it slows down to 160mph, at which point physical brake pads will be used to bring it to a full stop. Still, 160mph is a lot of speed to stop.
