You're looking at a soft, huggable robot. Inspired by a sea slug, it was made via 3D printing. Dubbed the "Glaucus", it is made from a single sealed piece of silicone with internal chambers that can inflate to distort its overall shape.
There may not be any practical application for this robot for now, but it does serve as a proof of concept for other applications from an inflatable cuff that could guide rehab patients through routines and more.
