Air conditioners are the answer to a scorching day. But they aren't exactly environmentally friendly. So
Thibault Faverie created the
Cold Pot - a simple terracotta device that can cook a room just by using evaporating water.
The terracotta pot absorbs water from a two-liter reservoir on the inside which seeps through to the outer surface before evaporating. During the process of water turning into gas, the terracotta and an aluminum pipe on the inside dramatically cool down, while a quiet electric-powered fan on the inside circulates air past that cold pipe and out into a room.
The Cold Pot was created by Thibault while at ECAL University in Lausanne, Switzerland, but there hasn't been any indication of production plans.
