Renault Pulls the Plug on the Fluence ZE Electric Car

The Renault Fluence ZE electric car hasn't broken sales records, and according to reports, Renault has stopped making it altogether.
Israeli start up "Better Place", the operator of battery swapping EV stations has gone bust, and since the Fluence ZE its main customer, Renault has pulled the plug on the model.
The Fluence ZE had a version featuring a permanent rechargeable battery, and the automaker saw no business case for the car following Better Place's bankruptcy. They stopped the production of the replaceable battery version immediately after the Israeli company's demise in May 2013. Renault has issued no official statement on this matter.
