You're looking at the very first Porsche ever designed. Turns it was electric! The Egger-Lohner electric vehicle, C.2 Phaeton model (the P1), was designed by Ferdinand Porsche. The wagon has a gas-hybrid electric motor attached to the back wheels.
The P1 was a big deal at the time, though. Ferdinand Porsche equipped the vehicle with a three horsepower engine with an "overloading" mode giving it additional two horsepower. Its top speed: 22 miles per hour over a distance of 50 miles.
After being discovered in a warehouse in Austria, this P1—one of only four ever manufactured—is headed to the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. Looks weird to us, but who knows how cars will change in the near future. What we'll be driving will look so archaic to the people of the future.
