If an 8-year-old is willing to risk his own life to save his loved ones, what excuse do you have?

The picture above is that of Tyler Doohan, a heroic 8-year-old who tragically died while attempting to rescue his disabled uncle from a raging fire that had engulfed his  family’s mobile home.

Tyler was visiting his uncle and grandfather in the town of Penfield, New York. Sensing that something wrong, he managed to alert and escort six of his relatives before going back for his uncle (who was missing part of his leg).

Sadly, that would be the last thing that Tyler did. He, his uncle and his grandfather along with several family pets did not make it. His body was found next to his uncle’s in a rear bedroom of the home after authorities doused the flames. Investigators claim that the fire was accidental, and was the result of an electrical problem.

As news of Tyler's braveness began to spread, the local community hailed the boy's heroism and ultimate sacrifice by creating makeshift memorial near the site of the fire, leaving behind teddy bears and condolences.
